What are the Skills Bootcamps?
Skills Bootcamps are free, flexible courses developed by Music Ally and CLOCK working together with Collage Arts, giving people the opportunity to build up sector-specific skills and fast-track to an interview with an employer.
Skills Bootcamps can help you to:

Your employees may require time off for study and classes, depending on course flexibility and work hours.
Your responsibilities (You will need to provide):
- a guaranteed job interview within the Skills Bootcamps scheme

- a line manager to guide and mentor the student
Testimonial
“From June 2023 to March 2024, my company employed six creative individuals people from the Music Business Skills BootCamps. It became very clear straight away that they were well-prepared and suited the roles given. We went through a trial period of 2 weeks so that we could test their skills on-the-job.
They each had a unique set of skills that included design, illustration and graphics, music and media, event and artist management, creativity and problem solving, social networks and YouTube know-how and savvy, interpersonal skills and were motivated to successfully hold down their first job in the creative sector.
The six of them worked on several key Collage projects over the duration of their employment like Collage Voices Windrush Wonder Stories, the Collage Community Arts Festival, the Karamel Jazz Club and McQueens Theatre Summer Stories programme.
They were professional, suitably attired for a creative arts environment and for the ages of users. They came to work enthused and excited about their work areas, turn up on time and stayed after hours to sample the food and events onsite. They were innovative and cheerful and looked forward to meeting the inspiring artistic community in and around Collage Arts.
We would definitely employ them again if we had more positions available and resources to do so.
We look forward to meeting the next batch of Creative Bootcampers and seeing their strengths in actions.
We currently have one ex-Bootcamper who wasn’t employed by us but took on a bursary studio (Kyraba). He is still supporting us with media and events services on a freelance basis. He organises events, records and edits music gigs (audio, photo and video) and manages young emerging artists for exhibitions and visual arts events.
What a great skills acquisition opportunity the BootCamps have been for these young adults aspiring to the music, media and creative industries, and many others just like them.
Keep up the good work and to the sponsors, please continue to support this amazing initiative and training/development/mentoring model“
